Janine and Dy Baby Shower

So, an Aunt of mine contacted me (hmmm, late notice) to design a baby shower invitation for her daughter and also a very dear cousin of mine, Janine. With only 1 week until the date of mailing them out (the shower is in August)...I came up with something sweet and darling. She'll like them, I know she will. The baby shower is taking place at a Country Club (Ex-cussa me!) and as far as I know will be a 100 guest turn out. Wowsah!!! This is the 1st grand, daughter that is.

A touching story....

I get tons of wedding email everyday, but when a cousin of mine sent me the following email called, "THE WEDDING"...my heart stopped. This is truly amazing and I hope this story touches someone as it has me because life is too short and time waits for no one. LOVE is truly bliss!

Her name is Katie Kirkpatrick, 21 yrs old. Next to her is her fiancée, Nick, 23. This picture was taken prior to their wedding January 11th, 2005 . Katie has terminal cancer and spends hours in chemotherapy. Here Nick awaits while she finishes one of the sessions..

Even in pain and dealing with her organs shutting down, with the help of morphine, Katie took care of every single wedding planning. Her dress had to be adjusted several times due to Katie's constant weight loss.

Katie, in a wheel chair listening to her husband and friends singing to her.

An expected guest was her oxygen tank. Katie had to use it during the ceremony and reception. The other couple in this picture are Nick's parents, very emotional with the wedding and of course to see their son marrying the girl he fell in love when he was an adolescent.

In the middle of the party Katie had to rest for a bit and catch her breath. The pain doesn't allow her to stand for long period of time.

Katie died 5 days after her wedding. To see a fragile woman dress as bride with a beautiful smile makes you think... happiness is always there within reach, no matter how long it lasts.....lets enjoy life and don't live a complicated life. Life is too short.
I don't know who was the amazing photography but I sure do credit them for taking these photos....Thank you!

Ok, so if there's one thing I really need to get the hang of is this blogging. It just seems to happen for me once I get dinner finished, laundry done, caught up with friends and family and most importantly spending time with my loved ones...I have to get better!

I am so anxious for my website to become live, right now I feature all of my designs on Etsy and believe me...it has been quite an adventure- i love it.

With all of this said, I promise to blog more...i'm getting beat up by those close to me that would love to read more.

2nd Post ~Vintage JuneDays~

Today I want to show a fan program I designed. Now the fan shaped program has been around for a while but in honor of Vintage JuneDays I designed one featuring romantic lace and a splash of color in the double satin blue ribbon.

This design can be used as a program and if you want to get even more adventurous feature this as a menu at each of your guest place setting.

~Vintage Wedding JUNEDAYS!~

Okay, since June is the month of Weddings...I decided to dedicate this month's postings to all things that are Vintage that would be lovely to incorporate in your special day. First stop....Vintage inspired wedding rings and bands. I am a real fan of vintage wedding ring sets, as for myself own one in white and rose gold.

This first ring is a 1/4ct round diamond milgrain band and is definately to die for by Helzberg Diamonds price at $599.99

This second choice is a Art Deco diamond set filigree wedding band in 14k white gold. You can find this ring located at The Antique Jewerly Mall for $195. Such a sweet ring for a sweet price!

Lastly, the Mother's of them all and definately two rings on my top 5 list if price weren't an option (at least for the first ring) is this gorgeous 2.53ct Princess Vintage engagement ring priced for a whopping $12,999 or your best offer on Ebay from WonderJewelers. Just ExQuisite!!! And, a circa 1950's white gold Vintage Estate Marquise diamond ring priced $2,495 also on Ebay by Wonder Jewelers....this one is really unique.
